Florisoft & MultiSafepay: Delivering value through terminals

The Netherlands is a global hub of the flower trade, processing massive transaction volumes daily. With perishable products moving rapidly from growers to wholesalers to international buyers, fast, secure, and efficient payment processing is essential.  

Often referred to as the ‘Silicon Valley of the flower industry’, the Dutch floriculture sector relies on highly efficient logistics and technology to handle transactions at scale. Businesses face the challenge of managing inventory, payments, and logistics under tight time constraints.   

With fresh products, a typical sales cycle might take a week or more, but in the flower trade, that entire cycle happens in a single day. 

For Florisoft’s Cash & Carry business, finding a payment partner that could integrate with their existing setup, rather than overhaul it, was key. 

The challenge: Payment solutions that fit business needs 

Florisoft serves a diverse customer base, from established exporters and wholesalers to smaller, growing companies. Many of these businesses run Cash & Carry warehouses, where florists and resellers visit in person, select fresh stock in cold rooms and pay on-site before taking goods with them. 

This setup requires a fast and accurate checkout process to avoid bottlenecks, ensure stock levels remain up to date, and reflect real-time pricing across both in-store and online channels. Transactions often involve dynamic pricing models, multiple customer profiles, and varied payment preferences, which add complexity to payment processing.

A digital payment add-on that complements existing systems 

Florisoft needed a simple yet effective way to integrate payment terminals into its existing ERP and POS systems. MultiSafepay’s SmartPOS terminals delivered: 

• A flexible add-on payment solution that enhanced Cash & Carry transactions. 

• API integration and Wi-Fi connectivity, removing the need for outdated COM and serial port connections. 

• An intuitive checkout experience with minimal disruption to existing operations. 

The biggest advantage we have experienced with MultiSafepay is being able to complete and create payments over wireless internet (Wi-Fi). This is a big advantage over the traditional terminals that work over COM or serial ports. 

Supporting sub-merchant and affiliate onboarding 

Florisoft ensures that customers are quickly and smoothly onboarded with MultiSafepay’s SmartPOS terminals.  

When a merchant opts in, they’re directed to MultiSafepay’s onboarding page via a referral link – ensuring they’re linked to Florisoft’s support environment. The requested terminals are first shipped to Florisoft, where they handle pre-configuration, install the MultiSafepay app and set up necessary support tools such as TeamViewer or AnyDesk.  
Once configured, the terminals are delivered to the merchant – fully set up and ready to use.  

Enhancing transaction accuracy and efficiency 

One of the key benefits of SmartPOS integration was the improvement in transaction accuracy and ensuring pricing and stock data remained consistent.  

• Payments are initiated via API, directly from FloriSoft’s backoffice application, which triggers a payment request to the MultiSafepay terminal. 

• Each user is linked to a specific terminal, making it easy to manage multiple devices across different points of sale. 

• Once completed, the transaction is automatically logged; successful payments are recorded, and users are alerted immediately in the case of a failed attempt. 

• This process eliminates manual input on the terminal, reducing errors and speeding up checkout. 

• Inventory updates in real-time, ensuring stock levels remain accurate. 

• Checkout is faster, leading to a better customer experience. 

Florisoft highlighted that integrating MultiSafepay’s terminals improved transaction accuracy, reduced errors, and made the process more intuitive for users.  

Our customers already had a PIN solution, so integrating one that worked smoothly with our system was important. The number of mistakes is lower now, and the menu tree is gone. It’s a small but valuable improvement.
